Motif Practice
Terms of Service
These terms explain the basic rules for using Motif Practice, a music practice platform for planning, running, reviewing, and improving music practice. In these terms, Motif and Motif Practice mean the app, website, and related services we provide. By creating an account, using the app, or buying a paid plan, you agree to these terms.
Using the app
You may use Motif Practice to build routines, run practice sessions, save notes and recordings, manage practice materials, review progress, and use community features we make available. Please use the app lawfully and do not misuse, disrupt, or try to gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' data.
Your account
You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. You may sign in with email and password or with Google if that option is available.
Your content and data
You keep ownership of the content and information you add to Motif Practice, including profile details, routines, practice logs, notes, recordings, uploaded materials, posts, and other saved activity. You give Motif permission to store, process, display, play back, and share that content as needed to provide the features you use.
You are responsible for making sure you own, control, or have permission to upload and share anything you add to Motif Practice. Do not upload copyrighted material you do not have rights to use or share. Purchased books, tabs, tracks, PDFs, lessons, or other paid materials may not be publicly shared through Motif unless you have permission to do so.
Private and public content
Private recordings and private materials are private by default. If you share content to a group, publish a routine or resource, post in community areas, or use another public sharing feature, that content may become visible to other users according to the feature you choose.
Public and community content may be moderated, removed, hidden, or restricted if it violates these terms, creates risk for other users, or appears to violate someone else's rights.
Subscriptions and payments
Motif Practice may offer free and paid plans. Paid plans are billed through Stripe. Subscription terms, billing cycles, renewals, cancellations, and payment management are handled through Stripe Checkout and the Stripe Customer Portal when those tools are available.
Paid access updates after payment is confirmed. If a payment fails, is reversed, or cannot be verified, paid features may be paused, limited, or removed.
Founder Edition, if available during Early Access, is a one-time lifetime purchase that grants Founder access according to the features described at the time of purchase. Founder access may include future paid updates where described at purchase, but it does not mean every possible future feature, service, or separate product forever.
Cancellations and refunds
Payments are nonrefundable except where required by law. Subscriptions can be canceled anytime, and access remains active through the end of the billing period. Cancellation timing, renewal behavior, and billing details are shown during checkout or in the Stripe Customer Portal.
Billing errors, duplicate charges, fraud, or failure to provide access may be reviewed manually. Refund requests can be sent to support@motifpractice.com. Please include the account email and a short explanation so we can review the request.
Founder Edition purchases are nonrefundable except where required by law or in cases of billing error, duplicate charge, fraud, or failure to provide access. If a Founder purchase is refunded, Founder access is revoked.
Storage and deletion
Plans may include storage limits for recordings, uploads, and other files. We may limit uploads or paid features when an account reaches its plan limits.
Archived recordings may stop counting against user storage and may be permanently deleted after the stated retention period shown in the product or plan rules. You are responsible for keeping your own backups of important recordings, PDFs, charts, tracks, images, or other materials.
Community rules
Community features are meant to support focused practice. Do not harass, abuse, threaten, spam, impersonate others, post harmful or illegal content, or use Motif Practice to violate anyone's rights. Do not post private information about another person without permission.
We may remove posts, groups, routines, resources, recordings, materials, comments, or accounts that violate these rules or create risk for the service or other users.
Availability
Motif Practice is still evolving. Features, limits, pricing, plans, storage rules, community tools, and other parts of the service may change, improve, or be removed over time. We aim to keep the app available, but we do not promise uninterrupted service.
Acceptable use
- Do not use the app to break the law or violate anyone's rights.
- Do not attempt to interfere with the service, security, or normal operation of the app.
- Do not upload or submit harmful code, spam, or abusive material.
- Do not use Motif Practice to publicly share content you do not have permission to share.
Copyright and DMCA notices
Motif respects copyright. If you believe content on Motif Practice infringes your copyright, contact us at support@motifpractice.com with enough information to identify the content and your rights in it.
We may remove or restrict content that appears infringing. Repeat infringers may have access restricted or terminated.
Ending access
You can stop using Motif Practice at any time. We may suspend, limit, or remove access if someone abuses the app, creates security risk, violates these terms, violates community rules, or repeatedly infringes rights.
No sale of personal data
We do not sell your personal data. Details about how data is handled are described in the Privacy Policy.

These terms may be updated as Motif Practice evolves. If we make changes, the updated version will appear on this page.
